The HB4 four-bladed cartridge comes standard on the HeadBlade ATX and NEW Moto Razor. It delivers amazing performance due to it's flow through design and seamless blade construction. We've spent over three years creating a unique pivot that lets the HB4 or HB6 blade cartridge to be used on any HeadBlade, including the original HeadBlade Classic! All you have to do is use the supplied adapter that comes in each blade kit. Kit contains one adapter and four blades.

This is a follow up from my review back in 2013. Unfortunately nothing has improved in over 8 years!
These blades are sub-par. They feel as though they are just scratching hairs, rather than cutting them. I have to make several passes with the Headblade ATX Razor, and even then, my head still feels patchy.
The only reason I gave these another try is because Headblade stopped producing HB3's (which did a fantastic job).
Sorry Headblade, you have lost yourself a once very happy customer. It's time to look at other options.

Follow up to my first review of these blades.
I bought a Headblade Moto starter kit an the original HB4 blade attached to the Moto barely lasted its first shave before dulling beyond any further use.
I was Very disappointed about this especially considering the approximately $4 per blade delivered cost.
The second HB4 blade however has lasted me 5 shaves before going dull so as long as this keeps up I’m reasonably happy with the cost/performance ratio.
I don’t know who Headblade use as their blade manufacturer but after such poor performance from the very first blade, to the Much better performance of the second blade I’m questioning the level of quality control which makes me wary about future HB4 purchases.
Seems like it could be a “lucky dip”...

I’m 56. Been shaving my head for about 25+ years.
My long term razor of choice has been a flexible 3 blade product from the Schick company (Xtreme 3), which up until about 6 months ago worked close to perfect for both my head and face..although not as smooth/close as I’d like.
Something must have changed in their blade metallurgy because instead of the usual 3 comfortable full shaves, I now only get 1 and even then the blade is dull before I finish. Always used the exact same shave gel.
My first shave today with HB4 was simple, easy, and smoother than I’ve ever had. Very impressed. (Headblade Moto)
Zero learning curve, zero nicks. Both head And face.
Also used their Head Slick for the first time. Lovely stuff!
Unfortunately their HB4 blades are close to $4 each shipped so I had hoped they would last me at least 3 full shaves.
This is not going to happen as my very first shave has dulled the blade beyond further use. And this was using their recommended HeadSlick product.
$4 for each HB4 shave is a MASSIVE cost jump over the 0.75 cents per razor I’ve used for decades. 5 times more expensive!
As wonderfully comfortable, smooth, and easy to use as my new Headblade is I don’t think I can justify spending over 5 times as much per shave as I used to.
I’ll use them up, continue my search for blades that last more than one shave, and are value for money just like I’ve experienced in the past.

Yeah look along time ago I was convinced that HB3 was the only HB blade for me and adamantly recommend it, now after a long time of running the 4 it is clear that my head much prefers it.
Happy to admit I was wrong back then... one thing I can/we can take from this all this is that no matter what HB product you purchase you will want to rave on about it because they are all great products.

I've been using a regular shaver for my head for about three years after my original head-blade shave head got clogged up. But now, with this new, easy-to-clean design, I have no trouble and love my head-blade. It is 100% better than the regular shaver. It's a pleasure to shave with.

Using these blades with the ATX has given me the closest shave ever. Previous setup was Sport with HB3 which I found was not as close. Loving the new setup.

I agree with above!

The 3 blade cartridges cut better, and last longer.
